David has worked in the Property Management Industry for over 20 years, as a Leasing Consultant, Community Manager, Marketing Director, and finally as a successful founder and owner of APT Companies which is comprised of APT Staffing, APT Training and APT Commercials. David has helped develop many top professionals in multi-family housing throughout California and Arizona. He has been an NAA National Apartment Leasing Professional instructor as well as a facilitator and speaker for Brainstorming Sessions. David has won Associate Member of the Year Tributes Award from the Arizona Multi-housing Association and his staff and companies continue to win awards in their local markets.
David created and developed APT Commercials to fill a need in the industry for high quality creative video tours and video productions. He has produced Commercial Hosted video tours for communities from Florida to Hawaii and works with some of the best talent Southern California has to offer. He has developed another video production company called Showoff Video Production, focusing on specialized businesses and real estate for the internet and television broadcast.
John Modlin is a Principal and President of APT Companies. He represents over 20 years of Property Management experience as a Leasing Consultant, Manager, Operations Manager, and Commercial Property Manager. In 2003, John helped found APT Companies, a staffing company specializing in property management personnel. He has conducted training seminars for over 15 years, and has produced many top leasing consultants for companies such as Con-Am Management, JPI, Alliance Residential, Lincoln, Equity and Fairfield Management. John is very active with the San Diego County Apartment Association, National Apartment Association and IREM, conducting seminars and serving on various committees. John has served on the SDCAA Board of Directors for over 12 years and was the 2012 President at SDCAA. John was the recipient of the Mark of Excellence Awards President’s Award in 2001 and the Industry Partner of the Year in 2005 for the San Diego County Apartment Association.
Michael currently has over 18 years of Property Management experience. He spent 8 years with Southern California Housing Development Corp., a Non-Profit Affordable Housing company which recently won Developer Firm of the Year in the Nation at the 2004 Pillars Awards. Michael specializes in Marketing, Leasing and Training and was the recipient for Manager of the Year in 2000 for the Inland Empire. He is certified in Relocation as well as a Facilitator for Sales and Marketing Magic Inc. Michael is an active member of (AAGIE) Apartment Association of the Greater Inland Empire Michael has been a vital piece to the success of multiple lease-ups and training of on-site employees to supervise company acquisitions.

Sr. VP Of Operations
Caroline has seven years in the Property Management Industry and is considered the baby of the group. She spent three and half years with Equity Residential in the San Diego Region. Caroline started her career as a leasing consultant and quickly promoted to Assistant Manager, Property Manager and Regional Training positions within the Equity Residential Portfolio. She has been with APT Companies since 2008, filling the roles of VP of San Diego, Sr. Executive Accounts Manager and her current position of Sr. VP of Operations. She plays an active role within the San Diego County Apartment Association and sits on varies committees. Caroline enjoys having the opportunity of being involved in all aspects of APT Companies and contributing to its growth.

Staffing Manager- Inland Empire
Lisa began her career in Property Management as a Leasing Consultant, where she immediately excelled and continued to promote upward into various positions including Assistant Property Manager, Business Manager, and Resident Manager. Lisa then took a break from multi-family housing to start her own successful “craft services” business, applying her creative and marketing talents toward building her business and working on movie and commercial sets throughout Southern California. With a passion for our industry, Lisa was drawn back in and ventured into her current role, as a Staffing Manager for APT companies. Her specialty is recruiting the finest talent available for the Property Management Industry and assisting candidates and clients in connecting successfully.
Staffing Manager- Orange County / South Los Angeles County
Laura began her career with Nordstrom, where she opened many stores in California as a Buyer. Her passion for both customer service and quality were a natural complement and integral to her success at Nordstrom. After a gratifying stint as a fulltime Mom, Laura re-entered the workforce and cut her teeth in Property Management as a Leasing Consultant for Arnel Property Managment. Laura was promoted to Director of Leasing after receiving multiple awards for becoming a top producer in the company. Next, she jumped to the vendor side and worked for The Apartment Guide as an Account Executive, focusing again on sales and service. Laura believes that taking care of the customer is paramount and strives to place employees that mirror her conviction of excellence in all that you do.

Dee has worked in the Property Management Industry for six years, as a Leasing Consultant, Community Manager and a specializing in Marketing .She started her career in Northern California and has ventured into many markets throughout the state. She has piloted many marketing campaigns and leasing training classes for top management companies. Dee is an active member of NAA and many local associations. Dee’s the newest to team with APT Companies, filling the role of a National Staffing Manager she takes care of Los Angeles, Northern California and all our national accounts.
Dees enjoys the excitement of recruiting new candidates for the apartment industry. She has a passion to build, mentor and grow relationships through property management staffing.
Account Manager San Diego
Lisa started her journey in Property Management as an Assistant Manager about eighteen years ago. She continued her career in the roles Property Manager which lead her into the managing several affordable housing communities in the San Diego area. She joined APT Companies in 2005 and spent over five years with APT before landing back into the daily grind of Property Management at Equity Residential. She truly missed the relationships that were established while working for APT Companies and has returned with her new role as Account Manager for the San Diego region. She loves the thrill of helping people find jobs and providing superior service for the San Diego market.
Account Manager- North and South Carolina
Darik is a seasoned veteran in multi-family property management, with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Darik began his career in property management as a leasing agent in Southern California, and quickly proved himself as a leader. From 1996 to 2008, Darik worked in positions as a Regional Manager and a Regional VP with various management companies in the Southern California market, including Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire, as well as San Diego. Identifying and hiring the right person for the right position is a strength for Darik, he has hired many people that have been promoted to positions including, Regional Managers, and Regional Maintenance Supervisors, and he has expressed that that has been the most gratifying part of his job over the years. Darik has an extensive network of contacts and relationships in the Multi-family Property Management industry in markets including Southern, and Northern California, the Pacific Northwest, and now the east coast, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Darik is a native of Southern California, was born and raised in the South Bay in Southern California, he attended UC Santa Barbara, and UCLA. In 2008 Darik relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he has worked as a Multi-Family Management Consultant in the southeast and northeast markets before joining the APT Companies.
